Welcome to the GREATEST BLOG IN THE WORLD!!! Okay, that might be pushing it a little, but this should be better than the average. This blog is completely free of PCBS (Politically Correct Bull S***) and full of slightly biased opinion (I am, after all, only human).
I believe that everything that's worth saying has been said by somebody, and better than I could say it. Therefore, there will be a bunch of quotes here. "Original" statements will usually be brief and to the point.
I have no "inside sources" at any level. The closest thing that I have is a stepdad who does some engineering jobs for the city (structural).
I consider a "city" any community over 5,000 people, because I grew up in a place with 8,500.
I was fully in the Romney camp before he fell in line. Now, I will support the candidate that scares me the least (haven't decided between McCain and HillBill).
I am a lifelong Packer fan, and I can't imagine life without Brett. I also follow the Brewers (since 2000), the Bulls (because I was born in a Chicago suburb), and Liverpool FC (since 2006, but not because of Istanbul). I also support all Wisconsin Badgers athletics.
I lettered five times in two sports in high school (three times in soccer, starting at left-back senior year, and twice in track (100 m, 200 m, long jump))
The Bible is to me, as it has been to billions throughout history, the backbone of my morals. However, this quote describes my worship practices and attitude toward the Church. "And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, they have their reward. But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly." Matthew 6:5-6
My view on the war is that it was a mistake to go in, but we should finish what we started.
My stand on Berkeley, California is from Shakespeare's Henry V. "He which hath no stomach to this fight/Let him depart; his passport shall be made/And crowns for convoy put into his purse. (Give him gold to speed him on his journey)"
